Elephants eat 250 pounds a day..,
Of raw, vegetarian, fruits, vegetables and plants. Washing, chopping, shucking, gathering, harvesting, transporting, feeding... Domesticated elephants are an incredible amount of work, (and money.)
Singing baby elephant to sleep...
One of the highlights of our trip..,Lek sits under the baby elephant and sings her lullabies until the elephant closes her eyes and falls asleep. The kids had the rare opportunity to participate...incredible.
Meeting Lek...
We had the privilege of meeting the amazing woman behind the "save the elephant" movement in Thailand. She rescues dogs ( and a goat) also. The kids helped to feed & care for the animals.
